After graduating at the Drama Centre London Duff made television appearances in Trial & Retribution Amongst Women and Aristocrats in the mid 1990s. Her first major role in the screen was Fiona Gallagher from the UK television series Shameless in the series' initial two seasons. The Virgin Queen (2006) was her first appearance as Queen Elizabeth as Queen Elizabeth in The Virgin Queen, and she also performed the principal character in From Darkness (2015). Duff was in movies such as Enigma (2001) The Magdalene Sisters Notes from a Scandal (2006) French Film (2008) The Last Station and Nowhere Boy Before I Go to Sleep (2014) and Suffragette (2015). Her performances in Shameless the Virgin Queen Nowhere Boy and Suffragette earned the actress BAFTA nominations for categories like the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories and she was given the BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Actress due to her role in the 2007 television film The History of Mr Polly. Anne-Marie Duff was a multi-award-winning English actress. She is a standout in her showbiz career acting on radio and television movies as well as theatres. She garnered mainstream attention portraying Fiona Gallagher in the British comedy-drama TV series Shameless as well as Queen Elizabeth I in the television mini-series The Virgin Queen.
